Local Eighth Grader Advances To Derby Festival Spelling Bee
(BEDFORD) - Can you spell anticipation? Bedford Middle School eighth grader Logan Wigley will be anticipating many spelling words come this Saturday.
Back in February, Wigley won the 33rd Annual 1340 AM WBIW Spelling Bee during the two day contest. Wigley won the opportunity to participate in the Regional Spelling Bee at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
Wigley says he hasn't really taken any extra preparations for the contest. He will be among other spelling bee winners from school districts in Kentucky and Indiana.
The winner of that event will advance to the National Spelling Bee which will be held in Washington, D.C. in May and June.
1340 AM WBIW will keep you informed on how Wigley does at the Derby Festival Spelling Bee being held this Saturday.
