(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Commissioners talked about septic tanks in their latest board meeting.

The amended fee schedule for the Lawrence County Health Department includes the permit fee for septic tanks.

County resident Bob Reynolds addressed the commissioners about his recent septic purchase. Reynolds said a septic system should last 20 to 30 years. His lasted only 90 days. Reynolds was concerned that permits are issued without proper inspection and soil testing.

The commissioners decided to keep the septic fee at $50.
