(MITCHELL) - 43-year-old Brian Emmons, of French Lick, suffered a fractured chest following an accident on State Road 60 and Meridian Road near Mitchell.

Police say Emmons' vehicle ran off the road, went over an embankment and struck a concrete drainage structure.

When police arrived at the scene Emmons had left the scene. He was found about a half mile from the crash site.

Emmons was taken to Dunn Memorial Emergency Room to be examined. He had not been wearing his seatbelt when the accident occurred. The Mitchell and Marion Volunteer Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
