Suit Names Lawrence County Jail Officials
Last updated on Monday, February 26, 2007
(BEDFORD) - The family of a Bedford man who died in the Lawrence County Jail is suing officials on grounds the inmate did not receive adequate medical care.
The legal action alleges former Lawrence County Sheriff Kent Hawkins did not provide James Anderson with the care required to prevent his death in August of last year.
An autopsy shows Anderson died from a brain hemorrhage. Anderson's mother and son are behind the suit.
