Mitchell Man Extracted From Vehicle After Crash

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man became trapped in his vehicle when after it hydroplaned and crashed on State Road 60 east of Mitchell.

Police say 58-year-old Michael Erdle was eastbound on Hwy. 60 when he ran across some standing water and his auto began hydroplaning. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway where it collided with a utility pole and tree.

Erdle had to be extracted from his auto by the Bedford Fire Department Extrication unit. He was complaining of chest pains following the crash and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

Damage to his vehicle was between $2,500 and $5,000. Erdle was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
