(BEDFORD) - Only three days remain for those interested in running in this year’s May Primary.

Lawrence County Clerk Julie Blackwell-Chase-Brinegar says the deadline will end at noon on Friday. A declaration must be filed in the Lawrence County Voter Registration Office, Room 20 on the main floor of the Lawrence County Court House.

Two more people have filed for the mayor's office in Bedford and Mitchell. Alan Craig, of Bedford, is seeking the Democratic nomination while Danny Terrell, of Mitchell, is looking for the Republican nomination for mayor of Mitchell. Craig is a 1994 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, Terrell ran in the November election last year, but lost to Butch Chastain who is the current mayor of Mitchell.

The Primary election will be Tuesday, May 8th. We will have up-to-the-minute election results after the polls close that day.
