(MITCHELL) - Mitchell police arrested a Mitchell man after a motorist called them saying he was following an intoxicated driver on Hwy. 60 west of town.

Police caught up with 30-year-old Larry Hughes and found he had failed to appear in court for a battery charge and that he was wanted on two check deception warrants.

Police also found Hughes had medications. The Poison Control was called in to investigate. Hughes was taken to Dunn Memorial Hospital, then to the Lawrence County Jail.
