(BLOOMINGTON) - A Friday event in Bloomington promoting the “Girls Gone Wild” series of videos has been canceled after the nightclub where the event was to take place received complaints.

The owner's of "Jake's", Dave Kubiak, says he met with Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan and decided not to go forward with the show.

The Indiana University Gender Incidents Team objected to the performance, saying the makers of the tapes, Mantra Entertainment, say a number of lawsuits are pending against it.

The group also threatened to protest the renewal of the nightclub's liquor license if Kubiak allowed the show to go on.
