Mitchell Home Catches On Fire

(MITCHELL) - Mitchell firefighters battled a blaze Thursday at a home north of Greenwood Street.

Firefighters from the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department were first on the scene. They asked for backup as a nearby home was in danger of catching on fire.

Heavy smoke was reported from the burning home. The State Fire Marshall's office was called to investigate the fire. Firefighters were at the scene for nearly seven hours.
