Fire Erupts At Mitchell Residence
(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department was called just after midnight this morning to a report of a house fire on Mississippi Avenue.
A 911 call from the next door neighbor alerted the fire fighters. Michael Wright, along with his wife and three children, escaped the burning structure thanks to smoke detectors in the home.
Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tyler Duncan says it took about 20 minutes to dose the flames, however, the home was considered a total loss. Duncan says he believes the fire started in an electrical outlet. The Salvation Army assisted in finding a place for the family to stay temporarily.
