(CAMP ATTERBURY) - The Department of Defense will conduct a study of Camp Atterbury and its effects on surrounding counties to determine how close development can come to the military training facility.

Brown County Commissioner Stephanie Yager says the county has already agreed to the study. She says she hopes Brown County officials will be at the table when decisions are made that affect property owners.

Yager says a recent change to the fly zone caused objections from residents because they weren't informed of that decision. The study also affects areas in Bartholomew and Johnson Counties, and will take about a year to complete. Officials with the Department of Defense were not available for comment.
