Head-On Collision Sends Oolitic Woman To Louisville Hospital

(MARENGO) - An Oolitic woman was sent to a Louisville hospital yesterday after being hit head-on in her vehicle.

The accident occurred near Marengo in Crawford County. Indiana State Police say Maryalice Manly was driving south on State Road 37 when Kimberly Zehr, of Eckerty, was driving north left-of-center. Zehr's vehicle hit Manly's auto head-on. The force of the accident was so great it totaled both vehicles.

Manly was taken to University of Louisville hospital with a broken hip, damaged ribs and a broken arm. Zehr was sent to Bloomington Hospital of Orange County in Paoli with lacerations to her face and a fractured neck. She was charged with driving left of center. The English Volunteer Fire Department, Crawford County Sheriff's Department, Southest Volunteer Fire Department and the Crawford and Orange County EMS responded to the scene.
