NLCS Teachers And Administrators Talk Salaries

(BEDFORD) - It was a busy day for teachers and administrators at the North Lawrence Community Schools Wednesday.
Earlier in the day the tentative 2006-2007 Salary Agreement was discussed and voted on by the board and North Lawrence Education Association teams. That night the North Lawrence Community Schools Board of Trustees voted to finalize the contract.
Changes include a 1.5% salary increase. The health insurance premium will increase 5%. Depending on the plan, that translates to a $2.50 to a $12 increase. The changes will begin on January 1, 2007.
A one time contribution of $100 will be added into the 401K plans and any retroactive pay will be given before December 31, 2006.
