(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County Public Library has garnered some national acclaim.
The 2006 Hennen's American Public Library Ratings puts the Monroe County Library 2nd in the nation among cities with between 100,000 and 250,000 people. Libraries are rated on a number of factors, including materials, budget, circulation and staffing.
Despite its high ranking, the library will not rest on its laurels and is set to begin the process of planning and expanding for the future. It's the third consecutive year the library has been placed in the top six for facilities in its category.
