(BEDFORD) - A group consisting of smokefreebedford.org chairman John McMillen, American Heart Association Community Advocacy Director Sam Denton and Lawrence County Health Department Director Dr. Alan Smith where at the Bedford City Council meeting last night discussing that Bedford become a smoke free city.
McMillen provided statistics proving second-hand smoke is as dangerous or more as being a smoker. Denton provided the board with information on how the city can write legislation that would cover all businesses including restaurants and factories. Dr. Alan Smith was there to provide support for the group.
The city board decided to discuss the issue at a later date. McMillen has put together a web site providing information for Lawrence County. Log on to smokefreebedford.org.
