(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Board of Works and Safety met yesterday and discussed the number of accidents that have occurred on 16th Street and John Williams Boulevard.
The Board is studying possibilities of adding additional stop signs at various intersections to try and reduce the accident rate on the two major roads. Bedford Police Chief Dave Jarrard compiled the numbers. Jarrard will soon put together another list to help the board make a final decision.
Meanwhile, a request to put a 3-way stop sign at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Norton Lane was tabled until more information can be processed.
In other business, the one and only bid to provide gasoline for city vehicles was received from Mullis Petroleum. The board approved the bid for 2007.
