(WEST BADEN) - Indiana State Police have arrested the pair responsible for trying to cash a bad check at a local convenience store and then striking Detective Greg Ashby with their vehicle as they fled Tuesday afternoon.

24-year-old Richard Roach, of Paoli, and 25-year-old Heather Mulley, of Austin, were found at Roach's grandmother's home near Paoli on Wednesday. Police found the abandoned vehicle near the home discovering stolen business ID cards and checks.

Roach was arrested on 20 counts of forgery and theft and 25 counts of possession of stolen property, criminal recklessness, battery on an officer, resisting law enforcement and one count of fraud and identity theft.

Mulley received about half of the same charges as Roach. Police say the investigation is on-going.
