(BLOOMINGTON) - An initial hearing was held in Bloomington Friday afternoon for Doris Patton of Bedford who is accused of forgery and theft of nearly $200,000 from her employer.
Patton, along with her attorney filed a not guilty plea during Friday's court appearance.
A pre-trial conference will be held on Tuesday, November 21st in Bloomington to determine whether to proceed with the trial.
Patton is charged with taking money from Dr. Jerry Jesseph over a two-year period and spending it on her exotic birds. If convicted she could face between 2 1/2 to 11 years in prison.
