(MITCHELL) - Not too many mayors would have the chance to do this, but, Mitchell Mayor Butch Chastain helped a couple whose child was suffering from high blood sugar.
The couple was unable to afford an ambulance to take their infant to the Bedford Regional Medical Center so Chastain stepped in and volunteered to take the family to the Bedford clinic.
He found them walking with the sick child and drove them to Bedford.
The child was checked and a decision has been made to send him to Riley's hospital in Indianapolis.
