Convicted Woman May Have Lengthened Berhman Case
(MARTINSVILLE) - Testimony in the Jill Behrman murder trial continued yesterday and included statements from a woman who may have unnecessarily doubled the length of the police investigation.
Thirty-two-year old Wendy Owings says she concocted a story which led police on a three-year wild goose chase in hopes her cooperation would land her a lighter sentence on charges of robbery and drug possession.
Owings says she regrets telling investigators Uriah Clouse hit Behrman with his truck and then wrapped her in plastic and tossed her in salt creek.
