(FAYETTEVILLE) - Two young people were injured in an accident on State Road 158 near Sandstone Road west of Fayetteville early Thursday morning.

Twenty-year-old Aaron Jones, of Springville, was driving the 1991 Chevy Cavalier and told police he couldn't remember what happened before the crash occurred.

Police were able to reconstruct the accident. They say the vehicle went left of center on the rainy and wet road, ran off the road, and crashed into a tree.

The Bedford Fire Department Extrication Team was called to remove the trapped Jones and his passenger, 17-year-old Mindy Andis, also of Springville. Jones suffered a fracture on his face, Andis complained of back pain. The Dunn Memorial Ambulance Service was called to treat the couple's wounds. Damage to the Cavalier was between $5,000 and $10,000.
