(BEDFORD) - Both the Bedford Police Department and the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department chased after a young Bedford man Tuesday morning after he was asked to stop cutting doughnuts in the Bedford Wal-Mart parking lot.

Bedford police saw 20-year-old Jeremy Lake creating doughnuts with his Oldsmobile and requested that he stop. Lake took off from the shopping center and headed to Lincoln Avenue and headed north on "M" street.

He continued outside of the city limits where county police took over. He finally ended up on Breckinridge Road hitting a concrete wall, chain link fence and a tree.

Lake was taken to the hospital by ambulance, treated and released for his injures. Police then arrested him for illegal consumption, reckless driving, resisting arrest by fleeing with a vehicle, speeding, criminal mischief, disregarding five stop signs, and leaving the scene of an accident.
