(BEDFORD) - The Bedford City Plan Commission was updated yesterday on the condition of the property across from Tom’s Sales on 5th street between “I” and “J” Streets.

The property owner was given much of this summer to clean up the high weed and grass but did not complete the job. Board members decided to give him another 30 days before proceeding with legal action.

Meanwhile, the board was introduced to the new Code Enforcement Officer for Bedford, Steve Simmons. Simmons will oversee complaints from city residents of untidy weeds, trash and even abandoned cars. Simmons was originally a city police officer.
