(BLOOMINGTON) - A Monroe County woman was given the maximum sentence for leaving the scene of an accident that killed a Bloomington man.
Twenty-nine-year-old Misty Evans told the jury she thought she hit a deer in November of 2004. Instead, Evans hit and dragged under her car 21-year-old Jesse Jacobs.
Evans was acquitted of reckless homicide, but was sentenced to an eight-year prison term for a felony count of leaving the scene of an accident.
