(AUSTIN) - The man who led police on a two county chase is now locked up in the Scott County Jail.

Thirty-two-year-old Carl Tharp, of Austin, was chased by police last week after he allegedly stole a car from Seymour and pointed a firearm at a female.

Later, he went to Scott County where police chased him there. He ran his vehicle into an Austin residence and barricaded himself inside.

Meanwhile, police discovered Tharp had allegedly tied up and battered a female at another residence earlier in the day.

Tharp gave himself up and police charged him with Criminal Confinement, a class B felony, and two counts of Battery, a class C felony. The investigation is continuing and other charges are possible.
