(BEDFORD) - A Bedford resident is nursing some bleeding on her face following an accident at 18th and “M” Streets Thursday afternoon.

Fifty-nine-year-old Brenda Melvin was attempting to turn onto "M" Street when 30-year-old Reynaldo Solis, Jr., also of Bedford, headed into the intersection.

Melvin did not see Solis and ran her Ford Escort into his Ford Taurus. Melvin said she did not see Solis's auto because of the glare of the sun. Solis told police he say Melvin's vehicle, but was unable to stop in time.

Melvin was charged with failure to yield right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated between 25-hundred and 5-thousand dollars.
