(SEYMOUR) - Police in Jackson and Scott Counties worked at stopping a criminal spree that began in Seymour.

Thirty-two-year-old Carl Tharp began his adventure by allegedly stealing a car from a business in Seymour after reportedly pointing a firearm at a female.

The vehicle was later spotted in Austin by a city police officer. He attempted to stop the vehicle but Tharp fled from the scene. The officer gave pursuit and Tharp crashed the vehicle at a local residence. The people inside the home excaped unharmed. Tharp barricaded himself inside the home, but later surrendered to police.
