(BLOOMINGTON) - Two Bloomington teenagers are facing juvenile charges in a pair of boat thefts on Monroe Reservoir.
Authorities say a conservation officer had just stopped a 17-year-old boy to warn him he was dragging his mooring ropes in the water when a boat owner flagged him down to tell him someone had just stolen a boat by cutting the ropes.
Conservation Officer Angela Goldman says a State Police K-9 officer tracked the boy a mile through the woods.
Police also arrested an alleged accomplice who was waiting for him at a boat ramp.
Goldman says the boys are also suspects in a second boat joyride the night before.
