Last updated on Wednesday, August 30, 2006

(BEDFORD) - An autopsy has revealed the cause of death of James Anderson who died following his release from the Lawrence County Jail.

Authorities say inmates found Anderson incoherent on the jailhouse floor. They claimed he had fallen from a chair he was sitting on.

He was taken by ambulance to Dunn Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. It was determined he needed to go Bloomington Hospital, but was released on his own recognizance. He was later pronounced dead by Dunn Memorial Hospital personnel.

Lawrence County Coroner John Sherill says Anderson died of a non-traumatic hemorrhage of the brain. Sherrill says Anderson was suffering from a previous medical condition.
