(MITCHELL) - Indiana 4th Congressional District candidate Democrat David Sanders held a press conference in Mitchell today to address the issue of a possible military explosives test in the area.
Sanders says Lugar is asking to stop the testing.
Mitchell Mayor Butch Chastain explained to those in attendance the petition to stop the experiment was to be sent to the governor and other state officials.
Sanders praised the crowd on speaking up and letting their voice be heard. He said if enough people stand up for a cause lawmakers will listen. The experiment was to be held at a quarry site on Hwy. 60 between Mitchell and Huron.
