(BEDFORD) - A Bedford podiatrist was killed last night at the Bedford Grissom Municipal Airport.

Fifty-five-year-old Ranford Hall was driving his Honda 1000 motorcycle on the airport runway when a deer ran out onto the tarmac. Hall hit the deer and went off the edge of the blacktop. He was found lying beside the motorcycle.

Lawrence County Coroner John Sherill was called and pronounced Hall dead at the scene. He determined Hall died from internal head and chest trauma. Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department First Responders were also on the scene.

Hall was there to check the runway lights to make sure they were all working properly. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
