Ride Across Indiana
(UNDATED) - About 1,000 cyclists from places as far away as Arkansas and New York embarked on a 160-mile bike trip Saturday that spanned the width of the state.
"Ride Across Indiana" began at the Illinois state line in Terre Haute and ended near Ohio in Richmond.
The annual event serves as a fundraiser for the Bloomington Bicycle Club. The group last year donated about $15,000 to different bicycle causes.
Locally, Arlene Brim and Kelly Fitzgerald-Cobb participated in the race. Both finished the 160-mile race and were medalists.
