(MITCHELL) - Carl Reynolds and Christopher Shaw were sworn in as the newly elected board members at last night’s Mitchell Community Schools Board meeting.
Lawrence Superior Court II Judge William Sleva administered the oath of office.
Shaw became the new president of the board for the 2006-2007 school year, with Debby Beeler becoming vice president and Susan Miller secretary. The board agreed to keep the meeting on the second Monday of each month at 7:00PM.
Compensation remained the same at $2,000 for each board member, plus $25.00 for each meeting and $10.00 for every special meeting.
Many appointments were made at the Mitchell Community Schools Board meeting. Cathy Kirk was voted in as treasurer and Christopher Burton as School Attorney. Vice president Debby Beeler, Superintendent John Lantis and Assistant Superintendent Steve Bayer were chosen the Board of Trustees and Administrator Representatives for the School Corporation.
Budget meetings for the Mitchell Community Schools were set for August and September. A review of the budget is scheduled for August 15th, a change from August 14th, since that is the first day of school this year for Mitchell students. A public hearing on the budget will be held on September 7th with the adoption of the budget on September 18th.
