(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell family is warning other parents of a potential hazard of a building block set that nearly killed their 3-year-old son.

Mike and Lori Butterfield had purchased a magnetic set, called Magnetix, earlier in the year for their son. Several pieces became lodged in his small intestine and an emergency surgery was performed to remove the powerful magnets.

Rose Art Industries of New Jersey has recalled the approximately 3.8-million toy sets after 34 other incidents were reported to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Those who purchased Magnetix can return the set to Rose Art for a free replacement product suitable for young children under the age of six. For more information, contact Rose Art at 800-779-7122 or visit Rose Art's website at http://www.roseart.com.
