Legislators Sign Pact Against I-69 Toll Extension
Last updated on Thursday, July 27, 2006
(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County legislators have signed a pact expressing their displeasure with Governor Daniels’ plans to make an I-69 extension a toll road.
Democratic lawmakers Vi Simpson, Matt Pierce and Peggy Welch all say they're against Daniels' proposal. The trio argue changing State Road 37 into an expanded tollway would disrupt commuting patterns and put a greater burden on municipal governments which must pay for upgrades to access roads.
