(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will soon move traffic from the southbound lanes of State Road 37 to the northbound lanes between Dillman Road and the Lawrence/Monroe County line.

During the reconstruction of State Road 37, all traffic has been moved onto the two southbound lanes while work was being done on the northbound side. Now, all traffic will be moved to the northbound side so work can be done on the southbound side.

The actual transfer of traffic is expected to take around 5 hours. During this time lane markers, warning devices and traffic will be moved, and traffic will be using both the northbound and southbound lanes.

Upon completion of the transfer, two-way traffic will use the newly paved northbound lanes and the southbound lanes will be closed to traffic.

Motorists are advised to pay close attention to signs and markers and be on the lookout for workers and equipment.

The reconstructing of State Road 37 between Dillman Road and the Lawrence County Line is part of Governor Mitch Daniels' Major Moves highway program.
