1939 Letter Found In Plaster

(BLOOMINGTON) - Construction workers at the Indiana University Memorial Union uncovered a time capsule of sorts last week.
A letter penned during another construction project in 1939 and stuck in a plaster wall was unearthed as workers renovated a part of the structure.
The letter was written by Union Building Page Emerson Elkins, who makes note of World War Two and Vivien Leigh being cast in the film version of "Gone With The Wind," which he says "may flop".
Elkins writes that he should have been working, but the plaster wall did not look well-constructed, so a spot of boredom led him to type the note and entrench it for someone to uncover later. The letter from the Peru native will be archived.
