Trent Jones Waives His Right During Trial
(BLOOMINGTON) - The State Supreme Court has refused to get involved in the civil trial of a Monroe County council member.
Attorneys for Trent Jones asked the high court to intervene when their client was not allowed to invoke the 5th Amendment for questions asked by prosecuting attorneys. That came after Jones answered similar questions from his own lawyers, prompting Judge Frank Nardi to declare that Jones had waived his right for the rest of the trial.
Now, lawyers representing injured former basketball player Brent Kell say they hope to re-depose Jones and get some answers. No word on when Jones might return to the witness stand.
