(LOOGOOTEE) - Two Loogootee men are recovering from their injuries following a car/deer accident last night in Martin County.

Police say 23-year-old Michael Norris, along with 22-year-old Jacob Lee Sheetz, were in their Suzuki 4-door when a deer ran out in front of the vehicle.

Norris swerved to avoid hitting the deer and lost control of his auto. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway into a ditch, causing the vehicle to flip over before coming to rest.

Norris suffered a broken arm; Sheetz received abrasions to his ribs. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

Neither was wearing their seatbelt, which police believe could have reduced the severity of the injuries.
