Man Donates Hundreds Of Wigs To ACS

Last updated on Friday, June 23, 2006

(EAST OOLITIC) - An East Oolitic man has donated 300 wigs to the American Cancer Society.

John Jenkins' wife Sharon had suffered from cancer and operated a wig store for other cancer patients from their home. She died in 1999 from the disease.

John decided to donate the wigs to the non-profit organization. The interesting thing about the wigs is that the wigs have never been used. They are brand new wigs.

The American Cancer Society has received wigs before, but usually have to clean them. Some of the wigs are made for men.

Tricia Bock from the American Cancer Society says they have never received men's wigs. Bock says the wigs will be distributed within a nine county area in southern Indiana.
