(BEDFORD) - The Limestone Heritage Festival will begin Saturday with a Pancake Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge on the Bedford square at 6:00AM.
Cost for the morning meal will be $3.50 for adults, free for children under five. It will run until noon.
The Tennis Tournament will be held at the BNL tennis courts on Saturday wrapping up on Sunday. At 9:00PM Saturday night, the U.S. Armed Forces Candlelight Ceremony will be held on the west side of the Courthouse on the Bedford square honoring local U.S. military service members.
The 4th of July will be celebrated with plenty of activities for everyone. Golden Corral Restaurant, on 16th Street and James Avenue, will have a Veterans Breakfast beginning at 7:30AM.
The 4th of July Parade entitled, "Our Hometown," will begin at 11:30AM with two F-16 Fighter Jets expected to fly over the event. A ceremony called "Healing Fields" will be held at the Parkview Football Field. Then an Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social at the Thornton Park Pavilion will feature The Residue begins at 1:30PM.
The Lawrence County Community Band Concert will follow starting at 5:30PM. And C.J. Watson will offer a free Outdoor Concert at the Thornton Park Pavilion at 8:00PM until 10:00PM.
A pre-fireworks Patriotic Salute will start at 10:00PM. The U.S. flag will be carried around the Parkview Football Field track just before the start of the fireworks display. Children and others interested in carrying the flag are reminded to bring flashlights to illuminate the flag from underneath. Fireworks will be set off at 10:15PM, weather permitting! Forecasters are saying skies will be partly cloudy with temperatures around 68 degrees.
