I.U. Research Discovers Investor Fraud

(BLOOMINGTON) - Research conducted by an Indiana University scholar has begun a nationwide inquiry into investor fraud at U.S. companies.
Randall Heron and a colleague from the University of Iowa showed how firms were "backdating" stock option grants to help executives benefit from increases to a company's stock price.
The research has fueled a national debate over whether the practice is illegal.
