(BLOOMINGTON) - A former Bloomington mayoral candidate who struck a 5-year old boy after the boy refused candy from him will go to jail.
67-year old Dale Grubb was sentenced to a year behind bars and will receive psychological help while in prison.
Grubb's trial was marked with outbursts and delays, after Grubb sabotaged his own defense by saying he'd like to cut Deputy Prosecutor Lynda Robison's throat.
Also, a jury member who knew Grubb was dismissed after it was alleged she'd polluted the jury pool with comments about her prior knowledge of Grubb's actions.
