(BEDFORD) - Several customers of Duke/Cinergy PSI Electric in Bedford were without power for several hours last night.
According to authorities, a transformer blew in the southern part of town from the storm that swept through the area. Electricity was reported as to being restored after midnight on Thursday.
The storm had the potential to produce heavy winds and possibly tornadoes, but did not cause any major problems in the area. Several tornado watches and warnings were issued by 1340 AM WBIW throughout the night. Calls to the sheriff's departments in the five county area showed the storm was not as severe as it could have been.
