Community Band Performs Patriotic Music For Holiday

(BEDFORD) - The local community band, under the direction of Brian Lackey, officially kicked off the summer with their traditional annual Memorial Day concert at the Otis Park Bandshell Monday night.
The band played several spirited marches, an arrangement from Aaron Copeland's "Appalachian Spring," and a Mozart arrangement celebrating Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 250th birthday, along with several additional band arrangements.
A very appreciative audience then rose as the band closed the concert with the Star Spangled Banner. Narrator Al Walker, announced that the next concert in the summer series by the Community Band will be on Tuesday, July 4th at Thornton Park at 5:30pm.
