Last updated on Wednesday, May 17, 2006

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Regional Medical Center, along with Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis used a new form of teleconferencing Tuesday afternoon to be able to meet with a Mitchell, IN couple.

Called Telemedicine Videoconference Technology, Tina and Randy King met with neurologist Dr. Askiel Bruno by using a television and camera hooked up through a form of the internet.

Tina is suffering from a rare form of brain dysfunction called cerebral aurosomal dominant arteriopathy, or Cadsil.

The doctor and patient are able to converse with each other using cameras and microphones and seeing each other with a television.

BRMC along with other hospitals and medical facilities across the country are beginning to use this new form of technology to better serve the community.
