(BEDFORD) - Nearly 250 Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce members, spouses and guests gathered Tuesday night at the Bedford National Guard Armory to the 90th annual dinner.
Special guest speaker was Scott Spurlock from Benchmark Hospitality International who is involved with building the new French Lick Springs Resort and Casino. He presented a slide show showing the amount of construction that has occurred in building the new complex. The work has proceeded at record pace and the opening date has been pushed up to November 1st, 2006.
Awards were presented to several area individuals. Judge Michael Robbins received the Chairman's Award. Beautification awards went to Stan and Cindy Endris for beautifying their residence and Don and Susan Patinode for improving their business. The Community Service Award was presented to a surprised Gary Ochs who was praised by Bedford GM Powertrain General Manager John Lancaster for all of his charity work with so many groups.
The evenings activities was capped with a wonderful magic show by Travis Sims and Extreme Entertainment.
