Orleans Dogwod Festival Underway
(ORLEANS) - The 2006 Orleans Dogwood Festival begins today with an all day town wide yard sales.
On Saturday the yard sales will continue with the Dogwood Patrons Breakfast starting at 6:30am at the Orleans American Legion. Other highlights include the Baby Contest at the Orleans Elementary School, the Horseshoe Pitching contest at the Orleans airport, both starting at 9:00am. And 12-noon the Kiwanis Bubble Gum Blowing contest will begin at the bandstand.
The Dogwood Festival Queen Contest will be held at the Orleans Elementary School gym at 7:00pm Saturday night. The Little Miss contest will be held Sunday night at the OHS gym at 7:00pm.
Jessup Amusements will be providing the rides and entertainment through the festival and capping off the week's activities will be the Orleans Dogwood Festival Parade. It will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 2:00pm in downtown Orleans.
