(BEDFORD) - Starting today the city of Bedford will be flushing fire hydrants.

Officials say the flushing could cause the water to become muddy or rusty and can be harmful to laundry with staining. They say to simply let the water run until it becomes clear. The flushing will last until Sunday.

Crews will begin with the flushing today at 16th street west, Bex Addition, Edgewood Addition, Cambridge Square and Clover Park Apartments. If the weather turns bad the flushing will be canceled. If you have any questions, contact the Bedford city utilities.
