(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council met during their monthly meeting Tuesday night.

Brent Maudlin from Icon Office Solutions talked with the board on consolidating electronic office equipment and supplies. He said consolidating with one vendor would save the county money. There was some discussion that this would take local money out of the county. The board told Maudlin they would take the information and consider the proposal.

Lawrence County Highway Superintendent Bob Stowe informed the board of the road paving that would begin, using the wheel and surtax fund. A company has been chosen to take care of paving county roads, but a final cost has not been approved. Also, Stowe asked the board to allocate money to repair twin bridges road northeast of Mitchell. Stowe said culverts would be widen to help alleviate the flooding that occurs on the road. Over $100,000 will be used to repair the road.

The next Lawrence County Council meeting will be held on May 23rd at 6:30pm in the County Courthouse.
